"A favourite dim sum spot in Miri. A must have breakfast always when staying over! Staff are always courteous, smiley and friendly! They also serve the best coffee so far (in the whole of Borneo) - Iced Hainan White Coffee!"
"Decent variety of halal dim sum and Chinese food. Located inside of Imperial Palace Hotel (pass through the hotel entrance, turn to the left). Service was quick though breakfast service was quite packed. Staffs were not very welcoming and not smiley. The waiter brought the selection of dim sum to our table, the following orders can be selected at the counter behind. Though if the dim sum counters are closed, orders are written. As it is halal, majority of the dim sum are chicken and prawn based. They are very generous with the amount of prawns inside each dim sum. Heres what we recommend: FOUR SEASONS BLESSING. The beautiful and colourful dim sum that you see advertised around. Made with natural food colouring; orange for capsicum, green for spinach, blue for butterfly pea flower (and white for the usual). All are prawn dumplings but with the the respective flavours. The skin was decent, not too floury and chewy. FRIED ASSORTED DIM SUM. Their fried things are really good. Like the prawn in beancurd skin, cheese in beancurd skin and wantans. Crispy though a little bit too oily. FRIED CARROT CAKE. Really tasty but the carrot cake was quite mushy and not firm and crispy on the outside. CHEONG FUN. The sambal is inconsistent, some days are delicious and some days are sour. The skin wasn’t smooth but it wasn’t unpleasantly thick and floury. Pretty decent. PAU. The popular pizza pau with its unique half red, half white exterior. It wasn’t great but wasn’t bad either but the bun was definitely too thick and dense, overpowering the inside flavours. The salted egg pau was quite good with gooey warm salted egg oozing out. CANTONESE WANTAN MEE. A slight wok hei flavour but mostly soy sauce. The wantan was fried and placed in the soup. Served with char siu chicken which was pretty flavourful and sweet. CANTONESE FRIED KUEY TIAW. Not what the picture shows. The sauce is clear with very little egg and no egg yolk on the top unlike the picture. On the other hand, the kuey tiaw noodles have a strong wok hei, similar to a very decent dry kuey tiaw. After adding some soy sauce and chili, the flavour intensifies and the creaminess goes through. However, was upset that the dish was not the same as the picture. Overall, pretty good halal dim sum. Price was reasonable for the portion. I would definitely recommend to try and would come back again."
"Food is tasty but limited choice on the dimsum. Hope to see more variety in dimsum."
"My friends brought me here for the first time. This restaurant is located inside the Imperial Palace Hotel. I was impressed by the menu with the variety of halal dim sum, but actually, the majority of the food is made with prawns. I didn't notice that until the end of our lunch. I feel like I'm eating a prawns feast lunch. Overall, food is decent. The environment is nice and comfortable. The staff is friendly and courteous."
"Clean & spacious. A nice place for a relaxed breakfast gathering for family & friends. Food was great. Staff are friendly (it was early & plus a public holiday, normally will expect a non smiley faces but their service to us was great). We had a breakfast birthday surprise here for one of our family member & we were pleased that the restaurant had a birthday music which made it more special for our birthday girl. Maybe for some it is nothing, but this small add-on/gesture made by the restaurant is why I gave them 5 stars."
